March is National Social Work Month, and we at Juniper Village Rehabilitation and Skilled Care at Brookline could think of no better time to introduce you to Licensed Social Worker, Betsy Brett. With 15 years of service at Brookline, Betsy is one of the first friendly faces you'll meet in our community. A true advocate for residents, she helps each individual to navigate the skilled nursing system and the many supports and programs that we provide in-house.
A graduate of Penn State and Marywood University, Betsy has been working with the older-adult population since the 1980's. She credits her "active and wise" grandparents--both maternal and paternal--as being her healthy aging role models. A stint with the Office of Aging left no doubt that she "had to make a difference in the world" for the mature adult population.
Betsy says that she feels honored and privileged to be able to meet and work with residents and their families. "Working together," she shared, "we are able to provide safe, stable routines for residents, offering comfort and support in a community with the best in care and in-house therapies."
Betsy lives in State College with her husband, Michael. They have one college-age daughter, Tiffany.
We are committed
At Juniper we are committed to nurturing the spirit of life in each individual we serve so that they may live fully throughout all seasons of life. To us this means understanding an individual, not only their needs but their desires and responding with programs and services which provide for the highest quality of life possible. Our Alive in All Seasons program of activities is designed to foster healthy bodies, enriched minds and fulfilled spirits. These pictures and stories are living proof that we at Juniper are dedicated to walking our talk!
